Meeting with the Representative Director, Deputy Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC)

On September 5, 2025, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Representative Director, Deputy Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Mr. Amakawa Kazuhiko.

During the talks, the high dynamics of the development of Turkmen-Japanese relations across the entire spectrum of interaction were noted. It was stated that an open and trusting political dialogue at the highest level contributes to the further strengthening of interstate ties.

Special attention was paid to expanding the legal framework of the partnership. In this regard, the parties noted the importance of bilateral documents signed during the working visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Japan in April of this year.

The accumulated positive experience of interaction between Turkmenistan and JBIC was noted with satisfaction. The effectiveness of joint projects implemented on the basis of bilateral agreements and aimed at financing the construction of large facilities in the oil and gas, electric power, chemical and other industries was emphasized.

Having highly appreciated the open investment policy conducted under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, the Japanese side expressed interest in intensifying ties and confirmed its readiness to participate in the implementation of large-scale national projects.
