Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Japan Atadurdy Bayramov held a meeting on April 1, 2026, with President of the Turkmen-Japanese Scientific and Technological Association H. Koinuma, as well as representatives of Japanese companies and organizations cooperating with the association. The parties discussed the potential implementation of a project to produce helium from liquefied gas, proposed by a professor at Chubu University.
According to Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the sides also considered prospects for a project involving the processing of natural gas into liquefied gas with subsequent export to global markets, also proposed by a professor at Chubu University.
Participants in the meeting discussed further strengthening of the established scientific and technological cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan, as well as opportunities to attract new Japanese companies and organizations to the Turkmen market.
The sides were also introduced to services offered by the Japanese organization Asia Seed in the development of human capital within education systems in Asian countries.
